The Byre Theatre
Cows were once milked in the shed that became the first Byre Theatre in 1933. Since then, the Byre has become The Byre Theatrean institution in St Andrews, bringing both professional and amateur theatre productions to the town. Now, having opened a brand new, state-of-the-art theatre in 2001, the Byre continues to deliver to the people of St Andrews and its visitors a varied programme of classic and contemporary drama, dance, concerts, opera, comedy, and film, as well as educational and community events.
