Who are we?
St Andrews Merchants' Association has a membership of over 100 traders and businesses within the town and its environs who care about how St Andrews is managed and aim to work together for the benefit of all. The Association is fronted by an Executive Committee made up of volunteer members. The secretary is presently Edith Rendle of Rollo Davidson McFarlane, 11 Bell Street, St Andrews.

What do we do?
Primarily, St Andrews Merchants' Association represents its members and, on their behalf, endeavours to improve business and trading conditions in St Andrews through consultation with Fife Council, elected councillors and other local interest bodies. We aim to see that the town is properly managed and that any alterations and improvements are sensible.

The Association also publishes an annual Town Map and Guide. This has the biggest print run of its kind in the area with, for example, around 70,000 printed in 2005. Targeting mainly tourism and locals, this is distributed through local agencies, hoteliers and other business outlets. Members can advertise in this and also on this website. We are also responsible for the Christmas lights in St Andrews, which have recently been upgraded, together with the provision of children's entertainment at the switch on.

Why join?
If you operate a business in or near St Andrews, St Andrews Merchants' Association will endeavour to support you. Through regular newsletters and open meetings, we will keep you up to date with developments in the town. We encourage communication between the Executive Committee and its membership and your concerns will be discussed at committee meetings held monthly.
