Here is a map of St Andrews' town centre to help you to get your bearings. It covers the main shopping area - Market Street, South Street, Bell Street and Church Street - as well as the harbour, the Cathedral and Castle and other historical sites.

Many hotels and guest houses are concentrated in an area bounded by The Scores and North Street. The R & A Club House and the Old Course are just off the bottom left of the map.

St Andrews operates a voucher system for street parking within the town centre. There are no ticket machines - you must buy vouchers from participating shops. This allows parking for up to two hours. Free long-term parking is available in the car parks at the entrance to the town - just off the bottom of the map - which entails only a five-minute walk to the Old Course or to the shops, so if you are intending to stay all day, this is the better option.
